Club member Doug Lobdell shares his professional journey this Thursday, November 6, at our weekly meeting.  Doug has a long history in the medical profession working with pharmacy companies, building business partnerships and creating important alliances. Please join us for this informative and interesting story.
The Southwest Area Veteran's Day luncheon is this Monday, November 10 at the Edina Country Club. You should have already made your reservations but if you haven't and still want to go, contact Katie Kearney-Bidwell immediately.  This event is great fun and a great way to recognize the contributions of our veterans.
As kids, they loved playing with different kinds of toys and trinkets. Growing up as neighbors, Mike Danielson and Charles Eide loved to play with remote control planes and helicopters. Never did they think that their hobbies would become their career one day.

Charlie is the founder of Eidecom, a media and event company. Together, he and his partner Mike run the company. It is amazing what they have photographed with their aerial photography and the company they have built with it.

The most interesting part of their presentation was when they brought up the use of the word "drone." The media has negatively blown up the use of drones, and this has been a pet peeve for Charles and Mike. They do not fly drones, they fly remote control aircraft. Unfortunately, people assume that they are drones and they associate those devices with government drones and other warcraft. With proper training, flying one of their remote controlled aircraft is virtually harmless.

Mike started a Fly Safe Training Program for that exact reason. People can pay to come learn proper flying skills and procedures in a 6 week course. At the end of the course, if they pass the test, they get an official certification to be able to fly. Mike and Charles stress that if you have a solid foundation of flying and proper training, it can be safe to fly one of these aircrafts.
