The Eden Prairie Noon Rotary funds this annual event to promote the importance of reading. My Book Day is a program which provides 700+ first graders in Eden Prairie a book of their choice. The club collaborates with the Eden Prairie school district staff to choose several books. Each first grader then makes their choice and a few months later they attend the My Book Day event at Eden Prairie High School. On that day every first grader in the EP school district is given a hard cover book and participates in activities including reading with local community members, attending a play, and more. My Book Day is designed to promote the idea that reading is fun as well as an important, life-long skill.
