On August 23, 2024, Sig’s heart stopped. He suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and died. The odds of surviving are just 8% and the odds of walking away 100% physically and mentally intact? Less than 1%.  But he did. And that changed everything.

Being the world's best isn't about being better than someone else. It's about becoming the best version of yourself and using your gifts to serve others. Drawing on lessons from business, athletics, family, and everyday life, Sig Muller shares practical ways each of us can create ripples of positive impact in our homes, workplaces, and communities.

Sandhya Gupta is the founder of Aavishkaar: Center for Science, Art & Technology.   Established in 2014, the organization operates out of Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, with the mission of making experiential STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education accessible to children and educators in rural and underserved communities.

As we prepare for the coming Rotary year, we're trying not to act too impressed that our incoming president, Tom Thorfinnson, is basically Rotary royalty. While the rest of us are figuring out where we left our name badges, Tom somehow found time to serve as President of the Hopkins Rotary Club, sit on the Rotary International Board, serve as Rotary International Vice President, become Vice-Chair of The Rotary Foundation Trustees, and served as Rotary International's Chief Strategy Officer. After a distinguished 30-year career in corporate law and decades of leadership in water, sanitation, and Foundation grant work, Tom has graciously agreed to spend the next year trying to keep the Eden Prairie Noon Rotary Club pointed in the right direction. 

We know we're incredibly fortunate to have him at the helm—and we'll do our best not to make him regret saying yes.

A Minnesota native, John Zeigler graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Meteorology and has spent his career forecasting everything from lake-effect snow to severe thunderstorms. He began as a morning meteorologist in Duluth before honing his severe weather expertise in Springfield, Missouri, where he covered the region’s most impactful storms. His first move to evenings came with his promotion to Chief Meteorologist in Charlotte, North Carolina, and most recently he served as Chief Meteorologist at WKOW in Madison, Wisconsin.

A graduate of Champlin Park High School, he proudly “bleeds Minnesota” and recently fulfilled a lifelong dream by joining KARE 11—a goal he has had since he was a kid. When he’s not tracking the weather, you’ll likely find him fishing for crappies, golfing, or simply relaxing on the porch with a good cigar and a glass of scotch. His first job was as a pool attendant at Grand Rios, and if there’s one thing he enjoys almost as much as forecasting, it’s a perfectly cooked rare steak.

Tim Mulcrone is a three-time club president, and the Rotary District 5950 Polio Chair, a role he has held since 2012. A charter member of the Rotary Club of Chanhassen, which he helped establish in 1987, Tim has dedicated decades to advancing Rotary’s mission and ensuring that the fight to eradicate polio remains front and center. Along the way, he has become known for delivering memorable presentations—sometimes as a leprechaun in search of a Pot of Gold for Polio, other times as Dracula recounting a chance encounter with Polio at the “Conference for Especially Evil” in Las Vegas.

Beyond creative storytelling, Tim has coordinated numerous high-profile awareness efforts, including End Polio Now billboards, city proclamations, and the illumination of the I-35W Bridge in Rotary’s signature colors. His Rotary service also includes hosting international students, serving as an assistant district governor, and leading special club initiatives. In 2012, Tim and his wife, Ginger, received the Chanhassen Rotary Distinguished Service Award in recognition of their outstanding commitment to service. He is also active with Love INC, the Chimbote, Peru projects, and the Chanhassen Fourth of July Parade. Tim brings enthusiasm, humor, and a deep passion for Rotary’s promise to end polio once and for all.
